    #BERLIN 2033 – Ideas of tomorrow

After 3 months of hard work, endless research, a lot of sweat, passion and above all ambition, the students of the ArtCenter College of Design have shown us how they imagine the future – Berlin2033. Inspired by their experiences in and impressions of Berlin, they amazed everyone present – whether an implanted chip that ensures that feelings are always redirected into a positive direction and to connect with people of the same mind, a robot that has intelligent sensors and thus provides inner-city areas with the necessary care to always remain green and fresh, or even an organ farm that “plays God” and can breed each organ individually for each person on the basis of a DNA test.

With their ideas, animated on our 270-degree screen, they actually took us for a moment into the future. And also Bruce Sterling, who welcomed the students 3 months ago to the beginning of the posthumanism project in Berlin, was very enthusiastic about it. And when would you ever get a chance to receive a feedback of a guy like him?!

Thank you all very much for a unique and exciting evening and congratulations to all students who have done an incredible job. And above all, we are curious to see which idea will actually come our way in the future. Berlin 2033 – Future in 15 years.

    GCB – Future Meeting Space

During the Science Week Berlin 2018 the German Convention Bureau visited us. Together with the EVVC Europäischer Verband der Veranstaltungs-Centren e.V., dem Fraunhofer-Institut für Arbeitswirtschaft und Organisation IAO and other research partners they presented the results of the second “Future Meeting Space” research phase. “How can events be carried out successfully?” was the key question that was answered during the course of the event.

Not only exciting for the participants but especially for us as Immersive Showroom Berlin.

We are already looking forward to the next research phase!

    A look through the future

As a multimedia location, whether museum or event location, we offer technology that inspires. And with our view directed towards the future, we too are constantly inspired by the latest technology.

For the second time now we hosted the VR Business Club, which together with Holo-Light presented the new star, the Magic Leap AR glasses from Florida, in our Immersive Showroom. Members of the VR Business Club were invited to test the new glasses in direct comparison with the Microsoft HoloLens released in 2016.

Thanks to the VR Business Club, especially Maren Courage and Oliver Autumn for a successful event and a big thank you to the Holo-Light team for the detailed presentation and the informative exchange.

    See you next time!

#BERLIN2033 – Bruce Sterling about Posthumanism

On September 4th we were honored to welcome the co-founder of the cyberpunk genre, Bruce Sterling, to our Immersive Showroom. His exciting talk about Posthumansim was the introduction of this year’s Test Lab of the ArtCenter College for Design in Pasadena, California. Together with Nik Hafermaas, Executive Director ArtCenter Berlin Programs, he welcomed the students from Pasadena to Berlin and presented the 3-month project Berlin 2033.

With the presentation on our 270° screen, the students could literally immerse themselves into the topic. We are already excited about the results of the design teams and looking forward to their future ideas. The presentations of the results will be held on 21 November, specially adapted to our screen format. But before that, they will for the first time conduct a creative dialogue, a collaborative creative, with their team colleagues in Pasadena on 19 October in our showroom. Doing so both cities will experience the future of meetings as if they were actually in one room – in our Immersive Showroom Berlin.

    Female Power at BFV

On August 29th we had the Berlin Football Association – BFV e.V. – in our Immersive Showroom and we are still very delighted and inspired by so much female power within the official influencer circle.

Together with former professional football player, Hans Adu Sarpei, and Thomas Klein, chairman of the Berlin press conference, Lutz Engelke, Triad managing director and football fan out of belief, was invited to a panel discussion for an open round of questions. The theme of the institutionalised meeting was the sponsorship of Berlin football. The evening was hosted by top executive coach and vice president of the BFV, Jörg Wirtgen.

Overall, we can look back on a successful event and looking forward to further extraordinary evenings of this kind in our Immersive Showroom.

A big thank you to everyone involved!

    First Immersive Start-up Night

On June 7, 2018, our first Immersive Start-up Night took place. We look back to a grandiose evening with 15 innovative founders in our digital event location. Exclusively invited start-ups convinced the jury with their pitch and in the end three start-ups got an attractive price for their vision of the future.
As a special highlight, we were able to welcome a great jury from the German startup scene. In addition to the well-known jury for this evening: Dana Oppermann, Co-Founder & CTO / COO, aviation law and Andreas Boenisch, Educational Entrepreneur of the international start-up scene held an exciting keynote.
